Banana Pola Recipe: A Delightful Treatπ
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe bananas/plantains
- 4 eggs
- Sugar, as needed
- A pinch of cardamom powder
- Salt, for balancing
- Sunflower oil or any edible oil, for frying
- Ghee, for greasing the pan
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Bananas:
- Peel the bananas/plantains and cut them into very small pieces.
- Heat sunflower oil or any edible oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Deep fry the banana pieces until they turn golden brown. Remove from the oil and let them cool.
2. Prepare the Mixture:
- In a mixing bowl, crack the eggs and beat them well.
- Add sugar to the beaten eggs according to your taste preference.
- Sprinkle a pinch of cardamom powder for flavor.
- Balance the sweetness with a pinch of salt.
- Mix the fried banana pieces with the egg mixture until well combined.
3. Prepare the Pan:
- Heat a non-stick pan with some depth over low flame.
- Grease the sides and bottom of the pan generously with ghee.
4. Cook the Pola:
- Pour the banana and egg mixture into the greased pan.
- Spread the mixture evenly in the pan.
- Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook over low flame for about 20 minutes.
- After 20 minutes, remove the lid and check if the pola is cooked by inserting a skewer into the center. If it comes out clean, the pola is ready.
5. Serve:
- Once cooked, remove the pola from the pan and let it cool slightly.
- Cut into desired slices or shapes.
- Serve warm as a delightful treat for breakfast or as a snack.
